Stacey Evans

Stacey Evans grew up in Waynesboro, Virginia, a small town made diverse by the variety and combination of its different landscapes – rural, urban, industrial, and suburban. Over the years, she has worked to translate her formative visual experiences and demonstrate the role landscapes play within culture. She studied photography at VCU and received a BFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently, she works as an artist, educator, curator, and photographer. She is a Statewide Educator at Richmond’s Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, an Imaging Specialist and Project Coordinator at the University of Virginia Library, and a resident artist at the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville.

Nina Frances Burke

Gabriel Hopson was born and raised in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He studied at the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011. He moved to New York City afterwards, where he maintained a studio practice for six years. In 2017, he moved to Besançon, France where he lives and works.

Gabriel Hopson a grandi, à Los Alamos, au Nouveau-Mexique. Il a étudié à l’Université de l’Arizona et a obtenu un baccalauréat en beaux-arts en 2011. Il s’installe ensuite à New York, où il pratique l’art pendant six ans dans un studio.  En 2017, il s’installe à Besançon, en France, où il vit et travaille.

Nina Frances Burke lives in Charlottesville, Virginia. She works with found objects, kinetic sculpture, and installation, utilizing a complex strata of form, materiality, and context.  Recycled food packaging materials, found objects, single use plastics, and cast sculpture come together in a non-linear narrative, questioning how our commodity culture influences interactions with our history, our neighbors, and the objects we come in contact with every day. She has exhibited widely and collaborates regularly with artists, poets, and activists in her hometown and beyond.

Nina Frances Burke habite à Charlottesville, en Virginie. Elle travaille avec des objets trouvés, des sculptures cinétiques et des installations, utilisant des strates complexes de forme, de matérialité et de contexte. Elle réunit des aliments recyclés, des matériaux d’emballage, des objets trouvés, des plastiques à usage unique, et des sculptures moulées dans un récit non-linéaire. Son travail s’interroge sur la façon dont notre culture marchande influence les interactions avec notre histoire, nos voisins, et les objets avec lesquels nous sommes en contact tous les jours. Nina a participé à des nombreuses expositions, et collabore régulièrement avec des artistes, des poètes et des activistes dans sa ville natale et d’ailleurs.
