Look To See / regardez pour voir

In the Look to See collaboration, Stacey Evans presented students from Charlottesville High School and Lycée Louis Pasteur with the creative task of altering landscape photographs she made in both cities. Through making photo collages, students examined the architecture, geography, and essential materials of each environment, cutting and ripping pictures into shapes to reconstruct a layered image merging the two regions.

Special thanks to teachers Jennifer Mildonian and Valérie Gérent.

“A perfect moment of discovery and sharing, enjoyed by all the students, and which created a nice complicity all year round within the class, feeling invested with this photo project and proud of such trust shown by the benevolent and caring artist Stacey Evans. We are all very grateful for these nice artistic moments of creation. “
-Valérie Gérent

"The experience with Stacey Evans with my Studio Art class was a wonderful experience. Having an outside artist is always a gift as it allows new perspectives and ways of seeing the world through art. “
-Jennifer Mildonian
